Asset Management System in MP

Bhopal, Dec 4 (UNI) An Asset Management System – enabling online monitoring through geo-tagging – will be implemented for better maintenance of Madhya Pradesh’s roads, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan averred on Friday.
A total stretch of 45,717 km is maintained by the Public Works Department and 18,801 km by the Road Development Corporation, an official release said.

While reviewing the PWD at Mantralaya, the senior politician directed, “Industrial clusters, modern agriculture and horticulture areas should be developed on either side of the 948-km-long Amarkantak-Alirajpur Narmada Expressway plus other development activities ensured.”

The National Highways Authority of India has issued a tender for the Atal Progress-way. As many as 149 villages and 3,063 hectares in Sheopur, Morena and Bhind districts shall come under the venture. Action is underway to impose toll on 25 routes and that is expected to translate into annual earnings of Rs 210 crore. A traffic survey of 200 routes is being conducted and all toll plazas will be automated (fast-tagged). As many as 95 railway over-bridges are to be sanctioned and half the projected expenditure shall be borne by the Centre.

Swachhta Seva Samman in MP

Bhopal, Dec 4 (UNI) Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan will on Saturday honour urban bodies that were found to have performed well by the Swachh Survekshan 2020, it was officially learnt.
The programme – scheduled to commence at 1500 hrs in the state capital’s imposing Minto Hall – shall also witness the senior politician interacting with sanitation workers, housing associations, non-governmental organisations and self-help groups. The event may be viewed live on television and in social media. As many as 56 urban bodies will be awarded in different categories.

War against COVID-19: MP’s body count rises to 3,314

Bhopal, Dec 4 (UNI) The fatality figure owing to the ‘millennium scourge’ mounted to 3,314 on Friday in Madhya Pradesh where 14 fresh demises were reported even as the infected tally touched 2,11,698 with 1,324 more sufferers being detected during analysis of 29,776 specimens.
A Health Services Directorate bulletin issued tonight pegged the active cases at 13,641. Indore District continued to have the dubious distinction of spawning the highest 526 new instances, Bhopal 321, Gwalior 48, Ratlam 29, Jabalpur 27, Sagar 24, Balaghat 20, Khargone 19, Barwani 18, Rewa and Satna 17 each, Morena and Betul 16 each, Ujjain and Dhar 14 each, Vidisha and Damoh 13 each, Jhabua 12, etc. The silver lining is that 1,94,743 individuals recuperated; 1,556 of them on this very day.
