Hyderabad, Dec 5 (UNI) Former Minister and TRS leader Kamatham Ram Reddy passed away at his residence due to prolonged illness here on Saturday.
He was 83.
Reddy was ailing from age-related health issues.
Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, Assembly Speaker Pocharam Srinivas Reddy and leaders of several political parties expressed their condolences over the death of former Minister.
In a message, Mr Rao recalled his association with him and conveyed his condolences to members of the bereaved family.
Reddy, who played a key role in the Congress party, won three times from Pargi assembly constituency in Combined Andhra Pradesh. He won in 1967 as an Independent, and on Congress ticket in 1972 and 1989.
The TRS leader, who was also elected as MLC in 1980, had served as Minister in Jalagam Vengal Rao cabinet in 1977, Nedurumalli Janardhana Reddy cabinet in 1991 and in Kotla Vijayabhaskar Reddy Cabinet in 1992, in United Andhra Pradesh.
The former Minister, who was denied the Congress ticket in the 2014 election, contested on a BJP ticket and stood third with 13,355 votes before joining the TRS in 2018.
Currently, Reddy, who studied BA and LLB from Osmania University (Law college) in 1961, was away from politics.
