Ravindra Jadeja gets injured during the first T20 of the series at Canberra.

Hyderabad: The concussion substitution in the first T20 match between India and Australia kicked up a storm on the rule. After being hit on the helmet in the final over of the innings, Ravindra Jadeja didn’t take the field. In his place, Yuzvendra Chahal was substituted and the leg-spinner took three wickets to win the match and Man of the Match award.

However, the cricket pundits questioned the way the issue has been handled. Justin Langer was seen arguing with match referee David Boon ahead of their chase. Former England skipper Michael Vaughan clearly wasn’t happy with what transpired out in the middle and highlighted that Jadeja was struggling with his hamstring. “No Doctor or Physio came out to Test Jadeja for concussion … he then looks like he has done something to his leg … then they pull the concussion replacement .. !!!!! #ratsniffed #OnOn#AUSvIND” Vaughan tweeted.

Tom Moody too joined in questioning the rule. “I have no issue with Jadeja being substituted with Chahal. But I do have an issue with a Doctor & Physio not being present after Jadeja was struck on the helmet which I believe is protocol now?” he wrote.
