BHUBANESWAR: The Ganjam district administration has decided to convert at least two classes of Odisha Adarsha Vidyalaya (OAV) into smart classes.
The district has 22 OAVs. “The classrooms of IX and X in two OAVs in Hinjili and Sheragad blocks will be converted on a pilot basis,” Ganjam collector Vijay Amruta Kulange said. We will review the success rate and then take a decision about the other OAVs in the district,” he said.
Two public sector units have decided to fund the infrastructure facilities of 25 and 28 schools in Hinjili and Sheragad blocks, respectively, under its corporate social responsibilities (CSR). The OAVs at Sasana Ambagaon (Hinjili) and Pakidi hill (Sheragad) have been included on the list of CSR funding by the PSUs.
In tune with the latest technology, the district administration has been planning to install high-tech learning equipment, including Android TV, for the purpose. “It will encourage students to learn fast,” the collector said.
“In the smart class, students will be provided with play-way methods of learning, which will give them an enjoyable experience,” DEO Amulya Kumar Pradhan said.
