Tamil Nadu reported 1,391 new COVID-19 cases on Friday, including four imported from other states. With these, the total number of cases in the State stands at 7,87,554.
Chennai: The number of new cases in Chennai declined further to 356, while Coimbatore added 139. Among other districts, Chengalpattu recorded 85 cases and Salem 75.
The State notified 15 more deaths, of which eight were reported in private hospitals and the remaining in government hospitals. The death toll COVID has now reached 11,762.
On Friday, 1,426 persons were discharged from hospitals across the State, taking the total number of discharges to 7,64,854. Currently, there are 10,938 active cases. The labs here tested 70,378 samples and 69,903 persons in the last 24 hours, added the bulletin from State Health Department.
