Chandigarh, December 2
The UT Administration has decided not to change the timings of shops or impose night curfew in the city. However, the decision will be reviewed from time to time.
During a review meeting, UT Administrator VP Singh Badnore appealed to the patients in home-isolation to approach hospitals for treatment before their condition worsens.
The Administrator requested the PGI to expedite Covid testing, which was getting delayed due to technical problems and must be rectified at the earliest.
Jasbinder Kaur, Acting Director-Principal, GMCH-32, said they have opened four more OPDs — urology, neuro-surgery, plastic surgery and cardiothorachic vascular surgery.
Dr Amandeep Kang, Director, Health Services, UT, said though there was an increase in the number of Covid cases from 2,473 in October to 2,991 in November, the number of deaths declined from 64 to 51 and the fatality rate also reduced from 2.6 per cent to 1.7 per cent.
The Administrator also took a serious note of the violation of government orders regarding a ban on hookah bars. He directed the police to book managers and owners of bars serving hookahs illegally. — TNS
