Uttam resigns from TPCC President post due to Cong party’s debacle in GHMC polls

Hyderabad, Dec 4 (UNI) Nalgonda MP, N Uttam Kumar Reddy on Friday evening resigned from the Telangana Pradesh Congress President Post after Congress faced a debacle in the GHMC Elections.
His resignation has made way for a new chief for the Congress in Telangana.
In a press statement, Uttam said, "I have submitted my resignation from the post of TPCC President . I have requested the AICC to take up the process of selection of new President of Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee immediately."
After declaration of results officially for 132 divisions out of 150 in GHMC elections, ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) won 53 seats followed by the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) which bagged 42 divisions.
The BJP, which aspires to emerge as the main challenger to TRS, won 35 divisions while the Congress party, which has been pushed to the sidelines, has two divisions to its credit.
