BJP Government’s Anti-Agriculture Black Laws are Death Warrants for Farmers: President, Haryana Pradesh Congress Committee Kumari Selja

Chandigarh, 04 December: President, Haryana Pradesh Congress Committee Kumari Selja said that the anti-agriculture black laws introduced by the BJP government at the Center are death warrants for farmers. These black laws are about to destroy the agricultural sector. She said that the Congress Party had lodged a heavy protest against these black laws, but in spite of all efforts of the Congress Party, this government got these black laws passed in the Parliament and paved the way for its capitalist friends’ to loot the agricultural sector. The JJP, Independents, and BJP MLAs, who are with farmers, should clarify their position on the farmers and withdraw their support from this government.

While Interacting with Press Media, She said that the ‘Annadata’ of the entire country has risen against these black laws. For the last many days, farmers have been agitating against these black laws.  But this government did not pay any attention to them. When the farmers were going to Delhi to awaken this government, instead of listening to them, the government lathi-charged them and tried to stop them. Water cannons were used on them in this severe cold.  Cases were filed against the farmers and they were put behind bars. After the formation of the Congress party, these black laws will be repealed, she added.

Kumari Selja said that the JJP had sought votes against the BJP before the election and it got 10 seats. But after the election, the JJP formed a government with the BJP. The JJP should make it clear whether it is with the farmer or it is only concerned about power.

Kumari Selja said that every section of society in this government is being harassed. The scheduled castes are also getting persecuted continuously in this government. Due to the anti-Dalit mindset of BJP and RSS, Dalits are constantly being persecuted.  Now the post-matric scholarship for students belonging to scheduled castes of classes 11th and 12th has been discontinued by the BJP government at the Center.

Kumari Selja said that the BJP had made many promises in its manifesto but the truth is in front of people. Under the Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission, millions of houses were built for the poor during the Congress Party’s rule. In Haryana,  houses to a large number of poor people were given in Ambala and Panchkula cities

under this mission. But BJP government has not yet allotted houses to the poor people in Haryana.  This government made big promises before the elections to grab the votes of the public. But today the cities of Haryana are in a bad state. No one is there to clean the sewerage system. Cities are facing many problems, she added.

Kumari Selja said that the Congress party will contest the municipal elections of Ambala, Panchkula, and Sonipat on the party symbol. The party has decided to launch its candidates for Mayor and Councilor positions on the party symbol in the three corporations. The Congress party is fully prepared for these elections, she added.
