PUNE: There are 17,877 seats available for 50,870 students eligible for admissions to health science courses other than MBBS and BDS in 2020-2021.
The provisional seat matrix and merit list for Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery, Bachelor of Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery, Bachelor of Unani Medicine and Surgery, Bachelor of Physiotherapy, Bachelor of Occupational Therapy, Bachelor of Science in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology, Bachelor of Prosthetics & Orthodontics and BSc Nursing courses in government, government-aided and other colleges were issued by the Common Entrance Test cell of the state on Thursday.
The number of students qualifying has also increased and so has the number of seats available due to the inclusion of some new colleges.
“Students tend to not look at the colleges allotted after they don’t find their name in the MBBS and BDS merit list. But there is a career for various types of medical practitioners in India as well as abroad and students must make an informed choice when choosing a college in the remaining courses,” Harish Butle, founder, Pune-based education NGO, Dynamic Entrance Exam Performance Enhancement and Research.
The online preference filling process for these courses started on Thursday and will continue up to December 10 while the declaration of selection list of the first round for the courses would happen on December 12.
The last date of joining and retention to the selected college during the first round for the courses would be between December 13 and December 21.
