Colombian fibre network operator InterNexa is increasing the transmission capacity of its DWDM networks between the states of Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro. To meet increased demand for high transmission rates, its Brazilian unit InterNexa Brasil has deployed Padtec systems to light new channels of its installed optical network (Alien Wavelength), with transmission rates of 300 Gbps.
In total, the optical channels lit by Padtec cross more than 650 km, interconnecting the main data centres and submarine stations in the capitals of Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo. For the operator's new route, Padtec supplied DWDM systems with ROADM technology, modern 1.2 Tbps transponders, optical amplifiers and route protection systems.
