Hyderabad, Dec 4 (UNI) The result for the Neredmet division in the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) Election has been withheld, as the ballots with other than arrow-cross (Swastika) symbol outnumbered the majority secured.
Earlier, in the day, Telangana High Court in an Order said if the number of ballot papers with ‘distinguish mark’ exceeds 100, the final result of that division should be kept pending.
It also clarified that only the votes marked with swastika on ballot papers should be considered and validated for counting purpose in the GHMC election.
The decision was taken by the Returning Officer as per the order of theHigh Court.
A report in this regard was being sent to State Election Commissioner (SEC) C Partha Sarathi.
In the division, there was a straight fight between the Ruling TRS and BJP.
Except Neredmet division, the counting for 149 divisions in the GHMC poll was completed, Official sources said.
