Qais Ahmad took 3 three wickets in his first two overs, giving away only 11 runs for the Kings. Tharindu Kaushal also sent down some effective off-spin, taking 1 for 22 in his three overs. The Stallions were 74 for 5 at the end of the 11th over.
Dinesh Chandimal played boldly to ensure that he hit the winning runs. He made an unbeaten 68 of 51.
When Dushmantha Chameera had an outstanding match as he took 2 for 27.
There were times when the Kings’ required rate escalated above 9. Andre Russell’s 32 off 20 balls guaranteed the Kings would make it home with comfort.
