Lineshadweep Lieutenant Governor Dineshwar Sharma has passed away. He was admitted to AIIMS Delhi for several days. Presently, he was working as the 34th Administrator of Lakshadweep. Dineshwar Sharma, a 1976 batch IPS officer of Kerala cadre, is survived by his wife Manju Sharma, a son and daughter. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah expressed condolences on Sharma's death.

The Prime Minister expressed condolences on the demise of Lakshadweep Administrator Dineshwar Sharma by tweeting. The Prime Minister said, 'Lakshadweep Administrator Dineshwar Sharma Ji has contributed to India's policing and security system for a long time. He handled many sensitive fronts against terrorism and extremism during his policing career. His death was very sad. Our condolences to his family. Peace


Union Home Minister Amit Shah also condoled the death of Dineshwar Sharma. He tweeted and said, It was a pain to know about the demise of Lakshadweep Administrator Dineshwar Sharma. He introduced patriotism while serving as a dedicated officer of the Indian Police Service. My heartfelt condolences to his family in this hour of grief. Peace

President Ramnath Kovind said that the demise of Lakshadweep Administrator Dineshwar Sharma is tragic. An outstanding police officer, Sharma's expertise in internal security was remarkable. My deepest condolences to his family and friends.

Dineshwar Sharma has also been a former interlocutor of Jammu and Kashmir. Sharma, a former head of the Intelligence Bureau, graduated from Magadh University, Bodhgaya Bihar. Dineshwar Sharma joined the Indian Police Service in the year 1979. During his tenure, Sharma carried out several challenging campaigns. He had rich experience in the field of policing and the fight against terrorism.
