First Executive Council Meeting, National Sports University

First meting of the Executive Council of National Sports University was held today, at 11:00 am on 24 November. 2020, at the Conference Hall of Manipur Olympie Bhavan, Khuman Iampak Sports Conmplex in physical as well as virtual mode.

The meeting started with a warm welcome to all the members by the Vice-Chancellor, Shri. R.C. Mishra. IAS (Retd), Chairman of Executive Council along with the brief introduction of each member.

He made a brief presentation to the Counil about the present status of the National University (NSU) and its' road map for future growth. He also informed the Council that NSU will collaborate with RIMS, Imphal to offer joint programs in sports science and sports medicine.

He also briefed the Council Members about his plans to shift to the new campus in the next 15 months. However development of the approach road to the new campus necds to be fast tracked by the State Govt. so that it's completed in time for use in the next one year.

The Vice-Chancellor also urged the Council Members to contribute their valuable expertise and experience in meting the challenges of setting up a new Institution of NSU. The members of the council express that they will work hard to0 take the university to new heights.

The Council thereafter took up the formal agenda for the meeting and amongst others nominated the members of the executive council for various committees and also approved various important Statute of the University.

Shri. Bobby Waikhom, IAS, Secretary (Sports), Govt. of Manipur and Dr. A. Santa. Director. Regional Institute of Medical Sciences, Imphal from the Manipur attended the meeting

The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks to the Chair.
