Prez, VP congratulate Navy personnel on Navy Day

New Delhi, Dec 4 (UNI) President Ram Nath Kovind and Vice-President M Venkaiah Naidu on Friday congratulated Navy personnel and veterans and all their relatives on Navy Day.

Extending greetings to Navy personnel, veterans and their families, the President said, "Nation is proud of your commitment in protecting our maritime frontiers, securing our trade routes, and providing assistance in times of civil emergencies.

May you ever rule the waters. Jai Hind! Flag of India."

Mr Naidu in a message to all Navy personnel, said the "Let us all salute our Navy personnel for their bravery, dedication and patriotism and selfless service in protecting the nation. My best wishes to all the Navy Personnel and their families."

Navy Day is celebrated on this day every year to commemorate the sinking by the Indian Navy of four Pakistani vessels, including PNS Khaibar, killing hundreds of Pakistani seamen in 1971 and recognises the achievements and role of the Indian Navy.
