MP CM’s focus on roadmap for ideal towns

Bhopal, Dec 3 (UNI) Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Thursday directed his officers to commence implementation of a roadmap for making Sehore, Shahganj, Budni and Nasrullaganj model places; official sources said.
While reviewing Sehore District’s development and construction projects during a meeting in Nasrullaganj, the senior politician instructed the Urban Administration Department to draft a master plan – in a period not exceeding a fortnight – incorporating all aspects such as potable water, electricity and roads. He ordered Divisional Commissioner Kavindra Kiyawat to have a survey conducted at the earliest for ensuring that dwellings deprived of potable water are identified and supplied with the life-sustaining fluid.

Gas tragedy: Widows’ pensions to resume

Bhopal, Dec 3 (UNI) As the Madhya Pradesh capital sombrely recalled those horrifying hours of 1984 when methyl isocyanate snuffed out thousands of lives, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Thursday assured resumption of the monthly pension of Rs 1,000 each – discontinued in 2019 – to women widowed by the Bhopal gas tragedy.
“The city should also have a special memorial – a Prakash Stambh Smarak,” the veteran leader was officially quoted as saying while addressing an all-religion prayer meeting conducted at Barkatullah Bhavan on the anniversary of one of the world’s worst industrial disasters.

Bhopal, Dec 3 (UNI) Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan expressed grief on Thursday over the demise of Mr Lalit Surjan – a writer and Editor-in-Chief of the Deshbandhu group of newspapers.
“He worked diligently for years together by publishing crucial articles on social issues. His death constitutes the departure of a key personality from the Fourth Estate. This is a colossal setback to journalism in Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh. Mr Surjan provided engrossing material to readers through the editions from Jabalpur, Bhopal, Satna, etc. I pray for peace to the departed soul and fortitude to the bereaved family for bearing this sorrow,” the veteran leader averred in a message.
