Nifty Media pared early gains to trade marginally lower on Friday. The Media Index opened on a bullish note on Friday and held on to gains in the morning session. But its stocks fell in the afternoon in a volatile session of trade.
At around 12.45 pm, Nifty Media was trading at 1,580.70 down 1.20 points or 0.08% after opening at 1,596.70 and touching a high of 1,617.15 on Friday.
Hathway Cables (up 2.99%) led the gains while
Dish TV (up 2.07%) and
DB Corp (up 1.40%) carried on their winning streak. ZEEL, Sun TV, Jagran and TV Today also traded higher.
TV18 Broadcast was at the bottom to drag the sector. It was trading at Rs32.50
down Rs0.95
or 2.84%
. Inox Leisure and PVR were also under tremendous selling pressure. Both the stocks were ~2% lower.
The overall sentiment in the market remained bullish. At around 12.50 pm, BSE Sensex was trading at 44,763.25 up 130.60 points or 0.29% and Nifty 50 at 13,167.30 up 33.40 points or 0.25%.
