ASX up 0.5% as big miners improve; Nuix soars in IPO frenzy

  • The ASX 200 was ahead by as much as 0.5% on Friday. The iron ore miners initially retreated after Thursday's dizzying run, but BHP and Rio Tinto moved higher in the afternoon

  • The S&P 500 stumbled late to fall short of a third record high in a row. US futures were pointing to a 0.2% rise for the three Wall Street indices tonight
