New Kawasaki Ninja 300 BS6 India Launch Timeline Revealed: Will Rival The TVS Apache RR310
Kawasaki Motorcycles discontinued its entry-level Ninja 300 offering from its Indian lineup, this time last year. Now, Autocar India reports that the brand is all set to re-introduce the Ninja 300 in its updated BS6 avatar back into the Indian market very soon.

As per reports, the new BS6-compliant Kawasaki Ninja 300 is said to go on sale in India sometime around March or April 2021. The new BS6-iteration of the Ninja 300 will be priced competitively in the segment, with expectations of price tag lower than its previous BS4 iteration.

The company first localised operations of the Ninja 300 back in 2018. The old model came with localised components, which included various body panels, brakes, tyres and even the headlights. Now, the new BS6-iteration of the motorcycle is said to go one step further and localise engine assembly operations as well, which should help bring down costs.

Talking about the engine, the upcoming Kawasaki Ninja 300 is expected to be powered by a 296cc parallel-twin liquid-cooled unit. The BS6-compliant engine will produce 39bhp and 27Nm of peak torque, paired with a six-speed gearbox. It will feature assist and slipper clutch as standard.

Other mechanicals includes standard telescopic forks at the front and a preload-adjustable mono-shock suspension setup at the rear. Braking is via 290mm and 220mm discs at the front and rear, respectively; supported by dual-channel ABS as standard.

The Kawasaki Ninja 300 BS6 model will also feature 17-inch wheels with 110/70 front and 140/70 rear tyre profiles with MRF rubber. The motorcycle will also come with a massive 17-litre fuel tank, seat height of 795mm and a kerb weight of 179kg.

Design and styling on the 2020 Kawasaki Ninja 300 is expected to be the same as its predecessor. The entry-level motorcycle will also carry forward similar features and equipment while having a minimalistic overall theme.

Thoughts On The BS6 Kawasaki Ninja 300 India Launch
The localised versions of the BS4 Kawasaki Ninja 300 performed well in terms of sales in the Indian market. Kawasaki will now be hoping to continue the same demand, if not more with the updated BS6-iteration, especially with the increase in localisation. Once launched in India, the Kawasaki Ninja 300 will rival the TVS Apache RR310.
