MTN Uganda has launched the MTN Senkyu loyalty scheme, providing redeemable Senkyu points to customers each time they use any MTN service such as buying airtime, voice or data bundles and using mobile money. They will also earn points on their birthdays and as a reward for the period they have been on the network.
MTN Senkyu replaces the existing loyalty programme and comes with more points, with more value. Customers can use their Senkyu points to pay for any MTN service or redeem them for goods and services of using MTN MoMoPay. Somdev Sen, the MTN Uganda chief marketing officer, said the operator needed to find a way to thank its customers for their trust and loyalty.
Sen said that MTN Senkyu is much bigger and better than the previous loyalty programme. It has more services, such as mobile money, and Senkyu points can be used for more data, call minutes and texts. Customers subscribed to the previous rewards scheme were automatically moved to the new Senkyu programme.
