Mah: Marathwada region register 343 new COVID cases, 6 deaths

Aurangabad, Dec 3 (UNI) The eight districts of Maharashtra's Marathwada region reported 343 fresh COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours, health authorities said on Thursday.

The region also witnessed six more deaths due to COVID-19 in the same period.

Details from all the district headquarters collected by UNI stated that out of the eight districts in the region, Latur was the worst affected with 50 fresh cases and 3 deaths, followed by Aurangabad with 99 new cases and single death, Nanded 30 cases and single death, Osmanabad 26 cases and single death, Jalna 65 cases, Beed 52 cases, Parbhani 18 cases and Hingoli 3 cases.

According to official data, 5,600 more corona cases and 111 deaths were reported across the state in the last 24 hours, taking the tally in the state to 18,32,137.

Meanwhile, 5,027 patients were cured and discharged from hospitals during the same period, taking the total number of recoveries to 16,95,208 in the state so far.

With this recovery rate has now gone up to 92.52 per cent and the death rate is at 2.58 per cent.

According to the health officials, so far 47,294 patients have succumbed to the disease in the state and 88,537 patients are currently undergoing treatment.
