Tata Hexa BS6 4X4 Spotted Testing In Pune Ahead Of Launch: Spy Pics & Details
The Tata Hexa catered to a niche audience with its practicality and go-anywhere ability in the Indian market. The 4x4 MUV was discontinued in the market as it was not updated to meet BS6 emission standards.

However, there was no official statement from the company regarding the MUV getting discontinued permanently. Tata Motors had also showcased a Safari Edition of the Hexa at the 2020 Auto Expo. Adding to the speculations and rumours of the Hexa's revival in the Indian market, the MUV has been spied testing in Pune.

The latest spy video shot by SP Auto Tech reveals a Hexa test mule without any camouflage. The test mule spied is of the XMA variant that also features a 4x4 badge placed on the side of the boot-lid.

The BS4 model of the Hexa was offered in two engine options: The entry-level trim of the MUV was powered by the ‘Varicor 320' engine producing 148bhp and 320Nm of torque and came mated to a five-speed manual gearbox.

While the remaining trims of the Hexa MPV were offered with a ‘Varicor 400' engine. The higher-spec 2.2-litre engine produced 154bhp and 400Nm of torque and came mated to either a six-speed manual or a six-speed automatic torque converter unit. The Hexa was offered with a four-wheel-drive system on the top-spec XT trim.

Along with its practicality and off-road ability, the Hexa also featured amazing road presence and aggressive styling with blacked-out claddings all-around. Other exterior features include smoked projector headlamps, LED tail lamps, and 17-inch alloy wheels. The faux skid plates, chrome inserts, twin exhaust tips added to the brawny looks of the MUV.

On the Inside, it featured a seven-inch touchscreen system, steering mounted control, dual-zone climate control with rear ac vents, 10-unit JBL speaker system, premium Benecke-Kaliko leather upholstery, and more.

The MUV was offered with seating for six or seven occupants including the driver. The Hexa also featured cruise control and with four different drive modes: ‘Auto', ‘Comfort', ‘Dynamic', and ‘Rough Road'.

Thoughts About The Tata Hexa BS6 4X4 Spied Testing In Pune
The Tata Hexa catered to a niche audience in the Indian market. The MUV struck a perfect balance between its practical cabin space, adequate performance from the diesel engine and its ability to go off-road. However, the Hexa suffered from low sales volume due to a niche buyer market.
