Brazil’s CPQD will inaugurate this month its first laboratory for conformity assessment tests of 5G equipment. A special platform has been set up that includes the whole set of tests established by the National Telecommunications Agency (Anatel) for the certification and homologation of 5G mobile phones and access terminal stations. The goal of these tests, according to Anatel, is to guarantee minimum quality, safety, interoperability and radio spectrum protection requirements for the 5G networks.
From 31 January 2021, manufacturers and suppliers interested in marketing terminals and base stations with 5G technology in Brazil will have to present the certificates of conformity assessment for this equipment for approval with Anatel.
