PPA suspends its lone MLA

Itanagar, Dec 3 (UNI) Ahead of Panchayat election, the People’s Party of Arunachal (PPA) has suspended its lone MLA Kardo Nicyor for his alleged involvement in ‘anti-party’ activities.
“Based on authentic proof of anti-party activities by the sitting MLA of the party, Kardo Nicyor. The party is left with no alternative but to place him under suspension with immediate effect,” PPA president Kahfa Bengia said in a statement on Thursday.
Bengia said that PPA, in spite of being the lone regional political party in the state, has been the victim of political defections of its elected legislators from many years.
This time the party is in no mood to suffer the same, he added.
The Panchayat and Municipal elections in Arunachal will be held simultaneously in a single phase on December 22.
