The South superstar had also said that his party would quit if its promises were not fulfilled within three years of coming into power. At the time of announcing his entry, Rajinikanth had said that all was not well with the forces ruling the state. He had said that complete overhaul was required in the governance system and his party will provide that option.
After announcing his entry into politics, Rajinikanth deliberated on several options whether to support any national party or go solo in the state. The speculation also was that he might go with Kamal Haasan, who also formed a party in 2018, to create powerful regional force against DMK and AIADMK.
The BJP too tried to persuade the superstar to support the party in Tamil Nadu. The BJP is in alliance with the ruling AIADMK in Tamil Nadu, this might have deterred Rajinikanth from going with the saffron party.
