Telecom Italia (TIM) has expanded its longstanding distribution partnership with Discovery Communications to support the launch of the US media company’s new Discovery+ streaming platform. The service, which replaces the VoD platform Dplay, was launched in the UK and Ireland last month with Sky. In Italy, the service will be rolled out with TIM’s backing on 04 January and will include access to Eurosport content, including the Olympic Games, as well as a large catalogue of original entertainment content, including the Italian edition of Love Island and other reality TV shows such as Naked Attraction, Marriage at First Sight and Bad Habits, Holy Orders.
The SVOD service will be available for EUR 3.99 a month or EUR 39.90 a year, rising to EUR 7.99 a month and EUR 69.90 a year with Eurosport. By way of a promotion, the annual subscriptions will be available for half the usual price for a limited time following launch.
