PATNA: State legislative assembly Speaker Vijay Kumar Sinha on Wednesday asked the House secretariat staff to maintain discipline, decorum and confidentiality, besides conducting themselves in a dignified manner with the present and former MLAs.
Speaking at his first interactive meeting with the assembly secretariat staff after becoming the Speaker, Sinha said the assembly secretariat was different from government departments and, therefore, they had to conduct themselves in a dignified way with the present and former MLAs.
Assembly secretariat secretary Raj Kumar Singh and other senior officials participated in the meeting. Sinha said the assembly being the legislative body, the staff should attend to the queries of the MLAs and also dispose of their matters quickly.
Noting that a large number of MLAs are the first-timers, the assembly secretariat should function as a ‘legislative school’ for them.
