Depressed over dad’s death, lawyer ends life in Kota

KOTA: Depressed over the death of his father, a 40-year-old advocate in Kota city allegedly committed suicide by jumping into Chambal River from Northern Bypass Bridge under Railway Colony police station area of Kota city on Tuesday night.
The police recovered the body on Wednesday morning and handed it over to the family members after post-mortem later in the day.
The deceased has been identified as Mukul Dubey, a resident of Railway Colony area, who practiced as advocate in local court allegedly committed suicide by jumping into Chambal River from Northern Bypass bridge sometimes on late Tuesday night, circle inspector and probationary IPS Praveen Nayak said.
Nayak said, the deceased man had gone missing from his house on his scooter on Tuesday afternoon and when he did not return home till late evening, the family members lodged a missing report following which a hunt for him was initiated and his scooter was found parked on Northern Bypass Bridge late on Tuesday night, he added.
Initial investigation revealed the deceased man was suffering from depression. He committed suicide on 12th day of his father’s death on which last rites are performed. No suicide note has been recovered. A case of unnatural death under Section 174 of CrPC has been registered. Further probe into the case has started.
