Today, the 26th Novemeber, National Sports University celebrated the Constitution Day (or Samvidhan Divas) at KhumanLampak Sports Complex. It was on this Day in 1949 the Constituent Assembly chaired by Dr Baba Saheb Ambedkar, adopted the Indian Constitution.

Addressing the gathering, Vice Chancellor Shri R.C Mishra IAS (Retd.) said that the Constitution Day is being celebrated in India not only to renew our faith and commitment to the values inherent in the Constitution but also to remember and acknowledge the contribution of the great luminary Dr Baba Saheb Ambedkar who is rightly called the father of the Indian Constitution.

He called upon the NSU faculty and staff to always remember and live up to the Constitutional values enshrined in the Constitution to realize the Collective dream of India as beautifully articulated in the Preamble to the Constitution.

On the occasion, Vice Chancellor Shri R.C Mishra IAS (Retd.) administered a pledge of the Preamble of the Indian Constitution to the faculty and staff of the University.

As a part of the program, a talk on “Essence of Constitution in Democracy” was delivered by Advocate Ms. Akham Romilla, Former Junior Govt. Adv. Panel lawyer at Manipur State Legal Service Authority. The session was attended by students, staffs, faculty and officers of NSU through virtual and physical.

The welcome address was presented by the Dr. Lamlun Buhril, Dean, National Sports University, while the programme concluded with the vote of thanks proposed by Mr. Shivam Dwivedi, President, Literary Club, National Sports University.
