Tele2 Russia has upgraded its IoT platform for businesses on the basis of the cloud backbone network of Ericsson. The upgrade will enable the company to deploy leased segments of the network for NB-IoT with minimum additional workload on the commercial network and to connect 1 million IoT devices simultaneously, as well as offer upgraded functions to corporate customers.
Carrying out the project, Tele2 Russia and Ericsson said the deployment of the key-ready leased segment of the network provides the minimum dependence of the NB-IoT layer from the existing network. The updated platform will enable Tele2 to provide services under the NIDD (Non-IP Data Delivery) regime and scale capacity quickly. The project will also enable improved functions for B2B customers such as APIs for integration with their IT systems.
Tele2 Russia has also received new tools for visualisation and traffic analysis (CNOM, Core Network Operation Manager).
