Khattar sees arrangements for smooth procurement of crops

Chandigarh, Dec 3 (UNI) Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar reviewed the arrangements being made for the smooth procurement of crops during the upcoming Rabi Season 2021-22 in the State and directed the concerned departments and procurement agencies to ensure that farmers do not face any inconvenience while selling their produce in different mandis across the State.

Mr Manohar Lal Khattar reviewed the arrangements while presiding over a meeting here Thursday. Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Minister, Mr J.P Dalal was also present in the meeting.

It was informed in the meeting that this time, registration of farmers on the Meri Fasal Mera Byora (MFMB) Portal will start early.

It was informed that during the Rabi procurement season, the State Government will procure 80 lakh MT of wheat on Minimum Support Price (MSP) of Rs 1975 per quintal, eight lakh MT of Mustard Seed on MSP of Rs 4650 per quintal, 11,000 MT Gram (Chana Dal) on MSP of Rs 5100 per quintal and 17,000 MT Sunflower on MSP of Rs 5885 per quintal. While 389 mandis will be set up in the State for the procurement of wheat, 71 mandis for Mustard Seed, 11 mandis for Gram (Chana Dal) and eight mandis for Sunflower.



It was informed that the choice for payment from agency to farmer directly or through Arhtiya indirectly will be taken at the time of registration. A fully functional call centre will be maintained by the Haryana State Agricultural Marketing Board (HSAMB) to assist the farmers in Meri Fasal Mera Byora registration and scheduling queries.

It was also informed that the arhtiyas will also be made aware of the new E-kharid software by holding a meeting with them in the month of December 2020. Apart from this, adequate training to agencies and HSAMB staff will be provided in February so that the process of initiation of procurement remains smooth.

It was informed that the payment module will also be a part of E-kharid and several banks will be empanelled for this purpose. An SMS will be sent to recipient arhtiyas or farmers whenever payment is made. Beside this, a call centre will be run by the Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department to assist the stakeholders in receiving information about payments during Rabi 2021.
