The Rajasthan government has issued a circular in this regard to clamping down on government officials who have gone on leave for more than 2 months.

Now if the officers of the State service went on leave for more than two months, their post will be considered vacant and other officers will be posted in their place. According to the circular issued by the State Finance Department, this new order of the Ashok Gehlot Government will be applicable to the Rajasthan State and Subordinate Services (Direct Recruitment through Joint Competitive Examination) personnel. The state personnel department had already implemented this rule for officers of the state administrative service.

Significantly, the Rajasthan government has taken such a decision in view of the long term holidays and negligence affecting the functioning of the departments. Due to long-term holidays, the working of the departments associated with the common people is more affected.
