Ambala farmers’ group to look after fields of those protesting in Delhi

NEW DELHI: Farmers from Tundla and Talheri villages in Ambala district of Haryana on Wednesday formed a group, Kisan Sewa Dal, to sow wheat and look after the fields of those peasants who are at the Delhi protest.
Gurjatan Singh Billu from Tundla will lead the group, the farmers announced at the Ambala Cantonment. The group also will look after the protesters’ families in the district. It also released a helpline number (8930830032) for any farmer who needs help with sowing wheat. Gurjatan said, “Kisan Sewa Dal has 40-odd volunteers. Farmers can contact us for wheat sowing or irrigating their fields. We’ll also bear the cost. Whichever seed variety they want to sow, we will procure it... We’ll not take any donation from outside.”
