The COVID-19 death count rose to 696 in the state, as three more patients succumbed to the deadly virus in the last 24 hours.
According to the mortality bulletin issued by Goa Medical College and Hospital, Bambolim, the three patients who succumbed to the deadly virus include a 80-year-old man from Margao who died while undergoing treatment at ESI hospital in Margao, and a 56-year-old man from Siolim who passed away in GMC.
The third fatality is of a 48-year-old man Siolim who was brought dead to the primary health centre, Siolim and tested positive for the virus postmortem.
As per the details shared by GMC, the 48-year-old patient reportedly had symptoms of the virus and was experiencing breathlessness for the last five days.
“The history declared by the family members accompanying states that he had been treated at OPD level by a private practitioner and was advised to undergo COVID test but the patient didn’t get the test done,” the GMC said.
