3 techies held for inter-state drug biz in Hyderabad

The accused with blots of LSD and 236 grams of hashish oil
HYDERABAD: Excise sleuths arrested three techies for running an inter-state narcotic drug racket and seized 56 blots of LSD along with 236 grams of hashish oil from their possession in the city.
After receiving specific information, excise enforcement team intercepted software professionals I Shiva Sena Reddy (27) from RTC Colony in Moulali and M Sai Vipin (27) from Kamala Nagar in Vanasthalipuram near Tarnaka. Officials seized 56 LSD blots, each having 150 microgram chemical strength, and 24 grams of hashish oil from their possession.
During interrogation, Shiva revealed that he had purchased the LSD blots from a contact in Goa and was selling it in city at Rs 2,000 a blot. While Vipin said that he has been procuring hashish oil from a friend, Harsha Vardhan of Pocharm in Ghatkesar, at Rs 2,500 for 12 grams and selling it for Rs 4,000.
After sustained interrogation, a team conducted a search at a flat in Singapore Township, Pocharam, and seized 212 grams of hashish oil. Ch Harsha Vardhan (29), also a software professional, was taken into custody there. Harsha confessed to excise sleuths that he purchased the hashish oil from Karthik of Visakhapatnam by paying Rs 1 lakh/kg and was selling it at Rs 2,500 for 12 grams container.
“Despite having a good job in a top software company, Harsha resorted to sale of narcotics due to his addiction to cannabis and hashish oil. In the past two months we have arrested about 10 persons who started consuming ganja in their college days and later became peddlers due to their addiction,” assistant excise superintendent N Anji Reddy said.
“We appeal to youngsters to stay away from use of drugs and parents should keep a watch on the recreational activities and money spending patterns of their children,” he added.
