Scotching rumours of possible induction of Maharashtra Gomantak Party leader and MLA Ramakrishna ‘Sudin’ Dhavalikar into the state Cabinet, Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) president Sadanand Shet Tanawade said that there has been no discussion at our level and no decision would be taken till local leaders are taken into confidence.

Tanawade was speaking to a reporter at Mapusa at a blood donation camp organised by Franky Carvalho on Thursday.

Replying to question on speculation of inducting Dhavalikar into the Cabinet, Tanawade said that in this regard neither Chief Minister nor he (Dhavalikar) has come and met him and no discussion has taken place.

Commenting over reshuffle in Cabinet, Tanawade said that “It is not proper for any minister to make comments on other ministers. Any decision of removal is taken by the Chief Minister and the party hence it is not right to make personal comments.”

He further said that “At present the party has no plans of reshuffling the Cabinet. We are going for zilla panchayat and municipal elections and at such time which party will take such a step?”

Replying to question over growing protests, Tanawade said that assembly elections are due in 2022 and normally when election approach opposition starts raising issues but this time they have made a mistake by starting early as normally such tactics are played two-three months before elections.

“In Goa many political parties are coming up. If issues like coal and others are bothering people then the government and party feel that such issues can be reconsidered,” said Tanawade.

Stating that for BJP all elections are same and elections are not considered as semi-final or final, Tanawade said, “Zilla Panchayat and municipal elections are the same for BJP. For BJP every election is the same and we contest to win.”
