First ever Appendectomy conducted at District Hospital Senapati

Senapati, December 02 2020: The District Hospital Senapati in a rare feat, successfully conducted two Appendectomy surgery today.

The surgeries were conducted by Dr Veihrii Paul, MS (General Surgery) and Dr Nepuni Francis (Anaesthetist) at the district hospital.

The surgeries were conducted on 2 female patients.

As per our correspondent, ortho cases and caesarean cases for pregnancy were conducted for some years now but other surgery cases like Appendectomy are not performed due to lack of specialist doctors and proper equipment in the operation theatre.

The operation theatre needs better instruments and upgraded facilities to perform other complicated surgeries which will also help the common people from spending a large amount of money in private hospitals.

CSO leaders and many people from the district have lauded the efforts of the two young Doctors in conducting such surgeries at the district itself.
