Russian federal telecom regulator Roskomnadzor has announced its list of domestic audiovisual services that can be pre-installed on smartphones sold in the country. Services aimed at Russians and with over 100,000 users per day have been included on the list. Prroducers will have to install applications from Russian developers onto smartphones sold in Russia starting next year.

The list includes Ivi, Megogo, More.tv, Movix, Okko, Premier, SPB TV Russia, Start, Wink, Аmediateka, Beeline TV, Kino1TV, Kinipoisk, Match TV, Megafon TV, MTS TV, NTV Plus, The 1st Channel, Smotrim, Tricolor Cinema and TV Online.

Under the regulation, browsers, news aggregators, search engines, navigators, digital assistants, office applications, software for messaging and email, applications for access to social networks, anti-virus software, software enabling access to the Russian payment system Mir and OTT media applications, depending on the device, will be pre-installed in this way.

The government said earlier that producers of smartphones, tablets, smart TVs, notebooks and desktop PCs will have to pre-install Russian software onto devices sold in the country, including mobile devices, smart TVs and desktop PCs.
