According to sources, farmers have rejected a written assurance from government regarding minimum support price (MSP). These farmers have asked the government to notify MSP as law. Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar along with Union Railways Minister Piyush Goyal talking with farmer leaders at Vigyan Bhawan in the national capital. Before the meeting, Tomar had hoped for ‘positive outcome’ from the discussion. Thousands of farmers from neighbouring states, mainly Punjab, have settled in and around the national capital as part of their 'Delhi Chalo' protest against the three new agricultural reforms which have been dubbed as ‘black laws’ by the protesting farmers.
