
Farmers Protest Today Live Updates: A meeting is underway at the residence of Home Minister Amit Shah. Union Ministers Narendra Singh Tomar and Piyush Goyal, who led the Centre’s talks with farmer unions yesterday at Vigyan Bhawan, also present in the meeting with the Home Minister. The protesting farmers from across the country continue to sit at borders as their third round of talks with the Centre remained inconclusive on Tuesday.
The farmers have been asked by the Centre to make a list of specific issues with all three laws and submit it today (Wednesday) and the discussion on those issues will happen when they meet again for the fourth round of talks on Thursday (December 3). On Tuesday, the leaders of 35 unions met with agriculture minister Narendra Singh Tomar and Railways Minister Piyush Goyal.
The farmers have blocked a few entry points to Delhi. In a traffic advisory, Delhi Police informed that the chilla border on Noida link road has been closed due to protest near Gautam Budh Dwar. Tikri border, Jharoda Border, and Jhatikra Border have been closed for any Traffic Movement. “People are advised to avoid Noida link road for going to Noida and use NH 24 and DND instead for Noida,” the police said. Available open borders to Haryana are Dhansa, Daurala, Kapashera, Rajokri NH 8, Bijwasan/Bajghera, Palam Vihar and Dundahera. Badusarai Border is open only for two wheeler traffic.

The talks between the Centre and farmer unions failed to end the standoff and the two sides will now meet again on December 3. The farmer unions rejected the government's offer to set up a committee to look into issues raised by them and said they will intensify their stir until their demands are met. The 35 farmer leaders held a three-hour meeting at Vigyan Bhavan with the ministerial delegation that included Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar, Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal and Minister of State for Commerce Som Parkash.
In a statement, the All India Kisan Sangharsh Coordination Committee (AIKSCC), an umbrella outfit of the farmer unions which are pressing for the repeal of the laws, said the talks remained inconclusive. It said they rejected the government proposal to form a five-member committee to look into the objections and study the concerns, while asserting that such committees have led to no results in the past.However, Tomar said the farmer unions have been asked to come with specific issues in the laws and we are ready to discuss and address their concerns" and they will meet again on December 3.

Farmers protesting against the new farm laws continue their sit-in at the Noida-Delhi border for the second day, leading to closure of a key route that connects Uttar Pradesh with Delhi. The Noida Traffic Police has advised commuters travelling to Delhi to avoid using the Chilla route and instead take the DND or Kalindi Kunj route. The farmers at the Delhi-Noida border belong to various districts of western Uttar Pradesh and want to reach the national capital to join the bigger stir launched by farmers of Punjab and Haryana against the Centre's agriculture reform laws. "The Chilla route is obstructed due to the farmers' sit-in demonstration at the Noida-Delhi border. Kindly use alternative routes (DND or Kalindi Kunj) to reach your destination," the Noida Traffic Police tweeted.
Hundreds of farmers affiliated to the Bharatiya Kisan Union and other groups had gathered at the border Tuesday evening where heavy security has been deployed on both Noida and Delhi sides which has prevented them from proceeding further. (PTI)
