Imphal, December 01 2020: Democratic Students' Alliance of Manipur (DESAM) expressing concern said, though all teachers need to be trained according to Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and Manipur vision 2030, District Institute for Education and Training (DIET) which provide Diploma in Elementary Education (D El Ed) is in no condition to produce quality teachers as the institute is marred with various discrepancies.

DESAM said it was shocking that the appeal of teachers of DIET Imphal East Keikol regarding the appointment of Principal of the institute which did not follow seniority list, has not been heard by the Government.

What is needed is regular Principals and appointment of Principal-in-charge on seniority before regular Principals are appointed, added DESAM.
