Farmers' Protest LIVE Updates: In the wake of protests by farmers of Punjab over the new agricultural laws, the Northern Railways have either cancelled, short-terminated, short-originated or diverted a few trains, while Chilla border on Noida-link road has been closed for vehicular movement. Delhi traffic police added that Tikri border, Jharoda border, Jhatikra border are also shut. Badusarai border is open only for two-wheeler traffic.
Union agriculture minister Narendra Singh Tomar and railway minister Piyush Goyal met home minister Amit Shah today as the deadlock over the crisis continues with representatives of 35 agitating organisations vowing to intensify the stir. The Centre will hold another round of discussions with crop growers on Thursday (December 3) as the meeting held at Delhi's Vigyan Bhawan a day earlier ended without any solution.

The traffic police said the borders at Tikri, Jharoda and Jhatikra are closed for all kinds of traffic movement. The Badusarai border is open only for two wheelers. Available open borders to Haryana are Dhansa, Daurala, Kapashera, Rajokri NH 8, Bijwasan/Bajghera, Palam Vihar and Dundahera, it said. As traffic spilled over to alternate routes, it led to long jams there as well. The protest against the new farm laws is set to continue as talks between three Union ministers and farmer groups ended in a stalemate on Tuesday after they rejected the government's suggestion of a new committee to look into issues raised by agitating farmers.
The Modi government has done what the Congress-led UPA regime’s Economic Survey had recommended. Yet, the grand old party is vociferously opposing the new farm laws.

Centre Should Include MSP: Ajay Chautala | As two independent MLA withdrew their support to the BJP government in Haryana and Deputy CM Dushyant Chautala is yet to speak on the issue, Ajay Chautala expressed concern over farmers' cause. “There are statements by the Agricultural Minister and the PM himself that we will continue MSPs. Then it should be added (in the document). What is the problem in writing one line? We want a solution as early as possible. Farmers Continued Sit-in at Noida-Delhi Border | Farmers protesting against the new farm laws continued their sit-in at the Noida-Delhi border for the second day on Wednesday, leading to closure of a key route that connects UP with Delhi. The Noida Traffic Police has advised commuters travelling to Delhi to avoid using the Chilla route and instead take the DND or Kalindi Kunj route. The farmers at the Delhi-Noida border belong to various districts of western Uttar Pradesh and want to reach the national capital to join the bigger stir launched by farmers of Punjab and Haryana against the Centre's agriculture reform laws.

Chandrashekar Azad Joins Protesting Farmers | Bhim Army chief Chandrashekar Azad on Tuesday joined the protesting farmers at the Delhi-Ghazipur border along with hundreds of his supporters and demanded that the new farms laws be withdrawn immediately. Farmers Should Flag Specific Issues in Laws: Agriculture Minister | As a meeting with representatives of protesting farmers remained inconclusive, Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar said they have been asked to come with specific issues in the new farm laws and the government is ready to discuss and address their concerns. "The farmer's organisations rejected the government's proposal to form a five-member committee to look into the issues related to the new farm laws," Roopsingh Sanha, member of Bharatiya Kisan Union (Ekta Ugrahan), said. Sanha said he was informed about the stand taken by the representatives at the meeting by the farmer union's president Joginder Singh Ugrahan over the phone. It is one of the largest blocks of farmers who have been protesting against the new laws.

According to news agency ANI, the 09613 Ajmer-Amritsar express special train journey commencing on December 2 will remain cancelled. Consequently, the 09612 Amritsar - Ajmer special train commencing on December 3 will also remain cancelled. The 05211 Dibrugarh- Amritsar express special train commencing on December 3 will remain cancelled. Consequently, the 05212 Amritsar - Dibrugarh special train commencing on December 3 will also remain cancelled.
The 04998/04997 Bhatinda - Varanasi- Bhatinda express special train will remain cancelled till further order. The 02715 Nanded - Amritsar express commencing on December 2 will be short terminated at New Delhi. The 02925 Bandra Terminus - Amritsar express commencing on December 2 will be short terminated at Chandigarh. The 04650/74 Amritsar-Jaynagar express commencing on December 2 will be diverted to run via Amritsar-Tarntaran-Beas.
The 08215 Durg - Jammu Tawi express commencing on December 2 will be diverted to run via Ludhiana Jalandhar Cantt-Pathankot Cantonment. The 08216 Jammu Tawi - Durg express commencing on December 4 will be diverted to run via Pathankot Cantt - Jalandhar Cantt - Ludhiana.
Intensified Protests
The two sides decided to meet again on Thursday. Earlier on Tuesday, Bhim Army chief Chandrashekar Azad joined the protesting farmers at the Delhi-Ghazipur border along with hundreds of his supporters and demanded that the new farms laws be withdrawn immediately.
Also, Bilkis Dadi, the octogenarian who was the face of the months-long anti-citizenship law protest in the national capital and featured in the Time magazine, was stopped by the Delhi Police personnel at the Singhu Border where thousands of farmers have been demonstrating, officials said. Bilkis, popularly known as the Shaheen Bagh Dadi, had expressed her willingness to join the farmers' protest at the Delhi-Haryana border at Singhu.

Cemented barriers and multilayered barricades have been put up besides heavy security deployment at Ghazipur border near the UP gate where many farmers have been protesting since Saturday, a police officer said.
Protesting farmers said they will not go back to their home until their demands are fulfilled by the Centre. Jagtar Singh Bhagiwander, who has been agitating at Tikri for the last six days, said, "No matter what, we are not going to move from here. We will continue our agitation and wait till December 3. We want the centre to take back the new farm laws." "We won't step back unless are demands are met. We have support of farmers from across the country be it Haryana, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Himachal Pradesh," he said.
Students from Delhi put up posters and pictures at Singhu Border to highlight the plight of farmers across the country and create awareness on a range of issues. Ravinder Singh (22), a student of Law Faculty at Delhi University, said many issues are ailing the country and the students want to create awareness about them. Meanwhile officials on Tuesday said the Delhi government has notified one of the three central farm laws and was examining the remaining two.
The ruling AAP in a statement said, "Laws have already been passed in Lok Sabha, Rajya Sabha and have been signed by the president. These are now laws in the entire country. No state has the power to independently implement or reject these laws." .
