Former Tundi MLA Rajkishore Mahto passes away

Dhanbad, Dec 2 (UNI) Former Tundi MLA Rajkishore Mahto passed away on Wednesday night.
He was 74. He was admitted at the Jalan Hospital on Tuesday after his health condition had deteriorated. The doctors treating him said that water had got filled in his lungs and despite their all best efforts he passed away around 2040 hrs on Wednesday. Few days earlier he was discharged from the Central Hospital.
Chief Minister Hemant Soren has expressed his grief over the demise of the former MLA. He prayed to the almighty to rest his soul in peace and give strength to the family members to overcome the burden of loss.
Son of late Binod Bihari Mahto who was one of the founders of the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha Rajkishore Mahto had also started his political career from JMM and had won from the Giridih Lok Sabha seat in 1991.
In his political career Rajkishore Mahto had represented Sindri and Tundi seats in Assembly. He was elected from Tundi seat in 2014 assembly elections but lost to JMM's Mathura Mahto in polls of 2019 after which in January 2020 he had resigned from the party.
Rajkishore Mahto had done his minning engineering from the prestigious ISM Dhanbad in 1968 and had gone on to complete LLB from Chottanagpur Law College of Ranchi University in the year 1975.
