the use of four different Departments.

administration will rise to 98.
For preserving the environment of the pristine Islands of this UT,
Andaman and Nicobar Administration has been taking some proactive steps in line with the vision of Government of India and one among them is the promotion of non-polluting motor vehicles as automotive pollution is one of the biggest contributors in air pollution.
Agreement to this effect has been signed recently by the Deputy
Director, Transport Department and Mr Ritesh Kumar Parkhi, Cluster
Head (South East), Energy Efficient Services Limited (EESL) in the
presence of Dr Navlendra Kr. Singh, Director of Transport and Mr.
Amit Kumar Kaushik, Executive Director, EESL.
The UT of A&N Islands has been taking the lead role in reducing air
pollution to ensure that not only the residents but also the
tourists are provided with a cleaner and greener environment.
During the last visit to Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Prime Minister Narendra Modi flagged off 20 electric vehicles at Port Blair that were handed over to the Andaman & Nicobar Administration, which were the first batch of electric cars in Andaman.
Other than electric car, Andaman and Nicobar Islands are slowly
shifting towards green energy by installing Solar Panels in huge
areas.
At present South, Andaman has 20 MW Solar Power Plant with Battery at Attampahad and Dollygunj, 5 MW Solar Power Plant at Garacharma and 7 MW rooftop power panels, which altogether provides around 32 MW power to the grid.
