New Delhi, Dec 2 (UNI) Thousands of farmers who are protesting for the past one week on the borders of the National Capital have reiterated their demand of withdrawal of new farm laws.

Their unions said on Wednesday that farmers will go back only after their demands are met.

Farmers have blocked many routes coming from Noida to Ghaziabad and connecting the national capital which resulted in traffic jam and congestion at various places.

Meanwhile, Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar said that he is confident that a solution will be found to the problems of the farmers.

Mr Tomar said that the farmers' should leave the path of agitation and adopt the path of dialogue.

Farmers' organisations continued to be in huddle and had consultations among themselves to finalize the strategy of meeting with the government on December 3.

The farmers have said that if their demands are not met, then all routes to Delhi will be closed.

Farmers' organisations have called for a nationwide dharna on December 5.

Farmer leader Rakesh Tikait has said that the farmers will return from Delhi only after their demands are met.

He said that the government should formulate a national agricultural policy and solve the problems of farmers. He alleged that the government has repeatedly cheated the farmers.

The Government will hold its fourth round of talks with 32 farmers' organisations here on Thursday.

Farmers' organisations have also called on the Government to call a special session of Parliament to repeal the new farm laws and to give legal status to the minimum support price of crops.

The Farmers' unions have turned down the Union government's proposal to form a committee to address agricultural problems and expressed a resolve to continue the agitation against new farm laws.
