Protesters threaten to lock Thapar Hall tomorrow

Ludhiana, December 1

The protest by PAU employees today entered 50th day. Employees associated with PAU Employees Union and PAU Teachers Association gathered at the office of the PAU Employees Union in large numbers and marched through different buildings and reached at Thapar Hall and sat on a protest there.

Female staff of the university also participated in the protest. Baldev Singh Walia, president, PAU Employees’ Union (recognised), said the state level unions of employees have also supported their agitation. He said they will lock the Thapar Hall on December 3 and halt the working of the university completely. They threatened to hold a massive rally at Thapar Hall. He further added many unions affiliated to joint council of trade unions will also participate in the rally to mark their support to the agitation. — TNS
