The Ministry of Finance has announced a monthly account of the Union Government of India for October 2020.
According to the ministry's data, the government received about Rs7,08,300cr in October 2020, led by higher tax revenue. This would be 31.54% of corresponding Budgeted Target (BE) 2020-21 of Total Receipts.
The Centre's total receipt comprises of Rs5,75,697cr as tax revenue (net to centre), Rs1,16,206cr as non-tax revenue and Rs16,397cr as Non Debt Capital Receipts.
In the total Non-Debt Capital Receipts - recovery of loans accounted for Rs10,218cr and disinvestment proceeds accounted Rs6,179cr.
Further, the ministry's data showed that Rs2,97,174cr has been transferred to State Governments as Devolution of Share of Taxes by the government this period which is Rs69,697cr lower than the previous year.
Meanwhile, the Centre's total expenditure stood at Rs16,61,454cr - achieving 54.61% of corresponding BE 2020-21. From the total, Rs14,64,099cr is on revenue account and Rs1,97,355cr is on capital account.
Out of the total revenue expenditure, Rs3,33,456cr is on account of Interest Payments and Rs1,85,400cr is on account of Major Subsidies, said the ministry.
