Convict who jumped parole arrested

Chandigarh, Dec 1 (UNI) Haryana Police on Tuesday succeeded in arresting a convict serving life term who jumped parole in a murder case.
The man was arrested from Sonipat district of Harayana today.
He was serving a life term for murder which he committed in 2006. He was also carriying a reward of Rs 25,000 on his arrest.
Giving this information here today, a spokesman of the Haryana Police said that the arrested criminal has been identified as Arshad, a resident of Shamli district of Uttar Pradesh. He was arrested by the STF team from near Kharkhauda.
The arrested offender, along with his accomplices, shot dead a Panipat farmer in 2006. After this, the accused was sentenced to life imprisonment by the Court.
Subsequently, he went underground after being granted parole from Karnal jail in 2010. He jumped parole and remained ilusive for the police, a reward of Rs 25,000 was declared for his arrest.
The accused had also committed many criminal activities in Uttar Pradesh. He has also been a history sheeter of the UP Police.
Arrested criminal, after changing his appearance, worked as driver in Ananda Dairy in Delhi and continued to work at the fruit godowns in Bahadurgarh and Badli. He will be produced in the Court and further legal action is underway.
