Farmers’ organisations that were holding talks with the Centre, have backed out from discussions after the government proposed to set up a panel to discuss the new agriculture laws.
Earlier today, Union ministers Narendra Singh Tomar, Piyush Goyal, Som Parkash held a meeting with representatives of over 30 protesting farmer organisations. “We'll discuss how to resolve their issues. The government will reach a solution after hearing them out," agriculture minister Tomar said before meeting the farmers.

According to a report by NDTV, the farmer representatives rejected the Centre’s suggestion of formation of a committee to sort out the differences over the farm laws.
