Tamil Nadu recorded 1,410 new cases of COVID-19 on Monday, taking its total number of cases to 7,81,915.

Chennai reported a total of 385 new cases, while Coimbatore added 146. Among other districts, 84 new cases were reported in Chengalpattu and 73 cases were recorded in Tirupur.
The State added nine more deaths due to COVID-19, of which six were reported in government hospitals. Chennai and neighbouring Tiruvallur notified three deaths each. Including these, the State's death toll has reached 11,712.
The number of discharges in Tamil Nadu has gone up 7,59,206 after 1,456 more persons were discharged. According to the bulletin issued by the State Health Department, there are currently 10,997 active cases of COVID in Tamil Nadu.
In the past 24 hours, the government and private facilities in Tamil Nadu tested 62,616 samples and 62,131 persons for the infection.
